La Alianza

Convened by Vision y Compromiso, La Alianza is a coalition of community-based organizations (CBOs) across California with a strong history of recruiting, training, and supporting promotoras and community health workers (CHWs). La Alianza works to amplify the voices of promotoras and CHWs through a unified agenda aimed at increasing investments in public health infrastructure and prevention-focused activities to advance equity and improve the health and well-being of immigrant, indigenous, communities of color, and the uninsured.

La Alianza advocates for the needs of promotoras, CHWs, and the CBOs that train and employ them, focusing on equitable funding, workforce needs, innovative economic development, social determinants of health, and broader policy and systems change. It ensures community-designated funds reach historically under-resourced CBOs, highlights best practices for addressing social determinants of health, and integrates expertise into local and state coalitions, task forces, and care teams to transform health and service delivery across diverse sectors.
